Dan D. Gutierrez

We've been doing business with Dan for several years and have great respect for his knowledge of Internet back-end development. So, when we asked Dan if he and his company would "officially" become a business partner of websiterevamp.org we were excited by the possibilities.  Recently, Dan took his company  into an area of new technology focus: Business Intelligence.

The following bio is quite modest and doesn't tell about some of the unique projects Dan has been involved with. One such project is the first on-line database Application Service Provider (ASP) eCriteria.net. Other projects have involved Universities and the Fortune 100.

Mr. Dan D. Gutierrez is founder and CEO of AMULET Development Corp., a Los Angeles based developer of database enabled and e-commerce websites. Founded in 1984, AMULET specializes in various Web technologies for building database-enabled and e-commerce websites. The company’s website is found at: www.amuletc.com. As primary client liaison, Dan serves as the main marketing and PR contact for the firm. He also carries the role of Chief Technology Officer and directs the company to maximize the use of contemporary Web and database technologies. AMULET maintains a technical staff of highly qualified software developers having years of collective experience.

Dan graduated from UCLA with the BS Computer Science degree. While at UCLA, Dan had the distinct opportunity to witness the birth of the Internet, as UCLA was the first node of what was then known as the ARPA Net. He participated in various research projects under the direction of Dr. Leonard Kleinrock, the renowned UCLA professor who defined the early packet-switched architecture around which today’s Internet is based.

Mr. Gutierrez also served as Technical Editor for a leading computer industry monthly publication, e-Business Advisor Magazine, from 1989 to 1999, where he wrote technical articles about database and Java technologies. He has published three database related books, the latest of which is Web Database Development for Windows Platforms, published by Prentice-Hall.

Dan also maintains a role in the academic community by teaching database technology classes for UCLA Extension. He has taught at UCLA for the past 15 years. Dan has been a member of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), a scholarly society devoted to computer science research, since 1975.

Prior to AMULET, Mr. Gutierrez was Vice President of Project Development for ADS Associates, Inc. where he managed the development of large-scale database software projects for the financial industry, including Fortune 100 firms and large brokerages.

After graduating from UCLA, Dan founded Advanced Systems Design, Inc., a start-up company that pioneered early back-end database machine technology, the precursor to today’s client server architectures.

We are an organization of Internet marketers, Website designers, web graphics, database, project management and online learning specialists.
