 Dan Williams . . .with PHP, MySQL, HTML, XHTML running on Apache and Linux. His exploits as a trouble-shooter are legiondary. When nobody else can figure it out, Dan can. Background Most recently, Dan has been the right-hand person at WebsiteRevamp participating in the implementation of our first 5 in a series of Joomla! database powered websites. (This website, WebsiteRevamp.org, is the third conversion in that series and is still undergoing some finishing touches.) Dan's background includes being a PHP, Linux developer at Texas Instruments, Dallas, TX where he was a Software Application Developer for a Linux-based embedded device. Dan was also an application developer at Allstate Insurance Co. where he participated in the maintenance and enhancement of insurance policy administration and agent compensation systems in an mainframe environment. In addition, served as project coordinator and development methodology coach for entire team. Open Source Contributions Core developer on the Open Palmtop Integrated Environment (Opie, http://opie.handhelds.org) Participated in design and implementation of common, shared libraries (i.e. libopie2) • Designed and implement common application GUI controls designed for small screens • Contributed and improved several applications, including Appearance, SystemInfo, Package Manager, Checkbook, Todo, AddressBook and OpieIRC • Coordinate efforts among developers world-wide • Maintenance of Opie home page • Release coordinator for current stable versions
