Q - "We've heard that our site could possibly be 'banned for life' from some of the most important search engines. How could that happen? What did we do wrong?"

A - Yes, that's quite possible. Once again, it's "what you can't see can hurt you." If your web designer was uneducated in the proper way to write the all important html titles and "meta tags" you can actually get "bounced" from search engine listings.

Q - "We keep getting e-mail offers to have our site submitted to fifty thousand search engines every month for $19.95. Is this a good deal?"

A - It's a good deal for the company that sent you that e-mail, but not for you! Since you now have a website you will be receiving hundreds of such offers each year.

While these services are not exactly scams, they'll do you more harm than good - Multiple submissions to some search engines are looked at as a kind of "spam" and can actually get your site banned from that search engine. If the offer sounds to be too good to be true, it is.

If you are currently subscribed to such a service, cancel it. Unfortunately, getting a good search engine ranking isn't that easy, or cheap.

Q - "Why is it so important to be linked to Internet search engines?"

A - The interactive world is a crowded place and is becoming more crowded every day. In order to overcome this noise level the right tags search engines.

When there are hundreds of results from a search, most people will only look at search results for the first 25 sites, (maybe.) What if you are the 75th? Nobody will every know you exist.
