The Case of the
Disappearing Website:

The lesson to be learned from this website re-design disaster is if you hire a designer to re-do your site, make sure they can demonstrate how your new site will bring you more, not less, business,

website Revamp can appraise the work of designers before you give them your hard-earned money. Or, at least, we'll give you a Second Opinion: This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it before launching. Better yet, let us supervise your re-design project now instead of hiring us to do it over later - It will cost a lot less in the long run, not to mention the lost opportunity costs.

Now, on with the story...

"GEC Consultants, Inc. realized in the early 1990's that the Internet was the communications media of the future. Therefore, we developed a website to call attention to our services, offer instruction and information to members of the hospitality industry. We were, if not the first, one of the earliest hospitality consulting firms to do this, and the site has been sucessful in developing new business.

As time moved the Internet into greater complexity in early paft of the century, we realized a remodeling of our website was needed. We selected a website consulting and design firm that created what we thought was an outstanding graphic and communication marketing vehicle.

However, we were dismayed to discover that this beautiful creative work was not getting the attention of any prospective clients. What's worse, existing traffic dried up. In desperation we contacted the people at WebsiteRevamp.org to analyze our website and offer up a solution.

To our amazement, Bill Stocking of WebsiteRevamp demonstrated to us that the search engines were ignoring our great newly redesigned graphic/multi-media website. This beautiful website obviously was not written to attract the attention of the search engines.

We contracted with WebsiteRevamp to redo the website structually, graphically and informationally to be more receptive to search engines and people with disabilities.

In just four weeks our first inquiries from new prospects began to roll in - this was after several months of no business at all.

Our hat is off to Bill and his staff for the great turn-around he made in our ability to market GEC's services and products."

Lloyd M. Gordon, President
GEC Consultants, Inc.
